WELCOME TO MDM 2013!!!
Registration is officially open. Please continue to check back here and like us on FaceBook for news and updates
What is MDM?: A yearly internet based fundraiser for military charities. It’s based on a workout called “Murph” named after Medal of Honor recipient Michael Murphy. The idea is to honor ALL of our fallen military members with a challenging workout.
Who can participate?: Anyone! You don’t have to be a Navy SEAL (it just helps…) You don’t have to be able to do the entire workout to participate, just do what you can. You can split it up over days, or complete it with a team. If you are not comfortable with these exercises, you can create your own version. What’s your “MURPH”?
When?: It is meant to be done on Memorial Day, but since it is not held at one particular location, it can be done whenever. Many places are hosting events the week before or on Memorial Day weekend.
Where?: Wherever you live. Many CrossFit affiliates and gyms are hosting events, but it can be done anywhere you can run, do pull-ups, push-ups and squats.
Why?: To honor ALL fallen military members with our pain and sweat, (some tears and blood too I’m sure), and to raise money for great charities supporting military causes.
How much?: Registration is $35, and includes an awesome event shirt made by FORGED clothing.
Where does the money go?: All profits go to the charities listed. We have ZERO paid staff and minimal overhead. It is our goal to maximize your donation.
Update on Memorial Day Murph 2012.
THANK YOU ALL! MDM 12 was a great success. We had over 7,000 participants world wide and donated $140,000 to four grateful charities. We also donated $5,000 to help family members of OPERATION Red Wings attend the Commissioning of the USS Michael Murphy.
In our effort to remain a grass-roots, all volunteer fundraiser, we have moved our website to www.MDMFundraiser.com This is the new site for the old Memorial Day Murph. With continued support from the Murphy family, we will bring you a bigger and better MDM in 2013!
Please note, any communication from Memorialdaymurph.com is not affiliated with MDM or the Murphy family.
Thank you for your continued support
